This five day training workshop was attented by 27 participants from Provinicial and Kabupaten government as well as academics and NGO staff from througout NTT. The workshop was co-organiosed and hosted by University Nusa Cendana in Kupang.
The training was a broad ranging overview of a range of applications for natural resource monitoring and managment and rural development. Topics covered included satellite based forest monitoring, land capability assesment, public health data analysis, field data collection and an introduction to ARC-GIS software.
Training was carried out by Rohan Fisher from CDU with support from Efraim Muga and Tjeerd Wits from Ngada, John Asbano and Oliver Koeger from TTS, Agus Rawambaku from Sumba Timor and Vincent Tarus from UNDANA.
CD-ROM based training tutorials and evaluation software where provided to all participants so they are able to continue with intensive training at their own pace.
